Packaging for Sergio Tacchini's
60th anniversary

PACKAGING DESIGN - BRANDING

To celebrate Sergio Tacchini's 60th anniversary, I was tasked with designing the branding and packaging for a commemorative campaign. The concept needed to reflect the brand’s Italian heritage, its origins in Novara, Italy, and embrace the campaign slogan: "60 Anni di Sporti".

The project required a full suite of design elements, including:

- A packaging box

- Souvenir items

- A neck label and hang tag for a limited-edition garment

- Socks packaging

Concept & Execution:
I drew inspiration from the golden era of Italian culture—La Dolce Vita. The packaging evokes a sense of retro Italy, a parallel, romanticised version of the past 60 years. The design blends nostalgia with modern elegance, transporting the viewer to the vibrant spirit of post-war Italy, when sport, fashion, and leisure flourished.

Key elements include:

-Pizza box-inspired packaging –  playfully nodding to Italian culture, yet  refined to reflect the premium nature  of the brand.

-Vintage postcards – featuring

 imagined scenes from iconic Italian  settings, bringing a tactile, travel-  inspired charm to the experience.

-Gold sticker seal – reminiscent of      the kind you'd spot on a classic Vespa,  adding an authentic and luxurious  finishing touch.

 

Goal:
To capture the essence of Italian style and celebrate Sergio Tacchini’s legacy with a light-hearted yet sophisticated homage to its roots—creating a piece of design that feels both celebratory and collectible.

Building on the initial design concept for Sergio Tacchini’s “Causing a Racquet” installation at Selfridges, the next phase focuses on refining and expanding the visual and thematic elements. The aim was to deepen the connection between Wimbledon’s iconic tennis legacy and the sophisticated Italian style that defines the brand. This involved integrating  dynamic visual elements, using story-driven content to create a cohesive and immersive experience.
